Here I Stand

here I stand,
atop the Mount of Reflection,
overlooking all that is known as my Life

my scarred heart open to the Wind:
the very Wind that has tested my courage
and challenged my commitment to Love

I survey the eroding peaks of Time,
noting remnants of my former self
scattered across the distant ranges
known as Past

oh, Wind of Life!
you have been a relentless; yet, noble instructor,
refusing to grant dispensation, lest I remain unfurled
in the
Valley of Limited Vision

here I stand,
a woman from a child,

overlooking all that is known as my Life;
understanding this mountain top is for those
who lose some of themselves along the way

here I stand,
in anticipation of the day this Wind
will carry me
back to the star-dust
from which I came
