Deep Diving

takes my breath away
diving to that dark place

so much confusion and faded contusions
staunch denials, demanding retrials
lots of scars, hearts in jars

unnamed sources filling the gaps in
my responsibility and taking bows
at my expense

so, dive I must
knowing part of myself still resides
deep in the darkness

I dive to bring that girl
back to the healing light
of the surface

a place where she will find
fresh air and reason
